About Noise Pop Festival

One of the last of its kind, Noise Pop Festival is a true celebration of independent music and arts. It takes place across venues all over San Francisco, so the way to explore new artists, rooms and nightlife is the old-fashioned way: hopping from one show to the next, all week long.

The band in a rocket

What is Noise Pop Festival?

Noise Pop is for the music nerds. Where else can you say you saw Carly Rae Jepsen and American Football at the same festival? Our specially curated lineups bring together people from all over who share one interest: we like good music.

Buy a badge and you have guaranteed entry to every show, party and happy hour of the week. Or pick one night and buy a ticket to that show alone. Either way, the festival is yours to wander.

It started in 1993

From its beginnings as a single night, five-band bill at the Kennel Club (now The Independent), Noise Pop Festival has remained a cultural arbiter and community advocate within the San Francisco music scene. After 33 years it has grown into an eleven-day, 160+ band, 80+ event, 25+ venue music and arts festival that remains a staple of the Bay Area.

Relive three decades of beer-soaked band tees, permanent hearing damage and knowing that band before they were cool.

Noise Pop Industries

Noise Pop Industries is the oldest home-grown independent music and arts event promoter in the San Francisco Bay Area. Since 1993, Noise Pop's namesake festival has pioneered the multi-venue festival landscape and focused on early-career performances by then-emerging artists such as The White Stripes, Modest Mouse, Joanna Newsom, The Flaming Lips, Courtney Barnett, Death Cab for Cutie, Grimes and many more.

Today, Noise Pop produces hundreds of concerts and unique events annually throughout the Bay Area and Northern California at more than two dozen favorite venues. NPI also partners with local organizations and institutions like the California Academy of Sciences, Downtown SF, Civic Joy Fund, KQED and the Mill Valley Chamber of Commerce to produce and promote cultural events through its NPI WHTLBL services brand, and operates the Bay Area's leading local nightlife and entertainment guide, DoTheBay.
